Advice and Information
Our adviser, Steve Place, can help you with many aspects of setting up and running your voluntary organisation including:-
writing constitutions
conducting AGMs and meetings
charity registration
setting up bookkeeping systems
employment law
health and safety
personnel issues
strategic/business planning
development of policies and procedures
roles and responsibilities of trustees
measuring what you are doing and its impact
quality assurance
We have produced some simple introductory guides on particular topics. Our current guides are listed on the right.
Sometimes people just want to know where to look for the information, on other occasions we offer more hands-on help with matters such as formulating 'objects', writing to the Charity Commission to seek approval for amendments to governing documents or delivering training to staff or volunteers. Whatever help you are looking for we will do our best to help you, and if we cannot then we will try to find someone who can via our local and national networks.
You can arrange an appointment to visit us at The Link or, where it is more convenient and a few people are meeting at another location, our adviser will come to you.
The biggest challenge for us is identifying small groups. Please help us by passing on our details to small groups or any individuals who are thinking about setting up a new group as we are always happy to provide advice and guidance.
We also send information to our member groups in newsletters (see the 'Information for Members page for further details) and to any voluntary group via our e-forums (see our Communications page).
