We will have international music, and food. Models will showcase an array of world and cultural fashion designs along the catwalk. Open Day at Dorset Scrapstore

Summer is here and the time is right for you to visit our Open Day and see how we can enhance your craft and play activities. Let our vast array of materials inspire your creativity and arm you for the holiday ahead.
Our materials are donated from industry and would otherwise have been thrown away - so not only do you save money by joining and using Dorset Scrapstore - you help the environment too by reducing the amounts going to landfill. We have sticky-backed plastic, card, paper, fabrics, leather, cardboard tubes, fake fur - and lots, lots more. And we have a selection of arts and craft products for sale at very reasonable prices.
For members and those who join on the day, with your first bin-bag of materials purchased we will supply you with a carrier bag to fill with materials for free. Alternatively non-members can take home a selection of our goods for a modest sum. So save money and help the environment by joining Dorset Scrapstore. If you want to know more ring for details.

LINks Information Event

Have you heard about the new Local Involvement Networks (LINks)? From April this year every council with social services responsibilities will have a LINk.
LINks will be independent networks of organisations and individuals representing the views of local people. They will allow everyone to have a say in how health and social care services are planned, developed and implemented.
You can get involved in a way that suits you. You do not have to join a committee or commit lots of time in order to be involved in LINks.
Help and Care has been appointed to be the Host Organisation for the LINks in Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth. Our role is to support the LINks to be effective voices for people in these areas. We are keen to ensure that the LINks have a broad base and are as diverse and inclusive as possible. We are particularly interested in people and groups who are usually under-represented and want to find ways in which they can be involved.
We will be delighted if you can join us for an Information Event. This event will give you the opportunity to find out more and to discuss how LINks might be established and developed to ensure the widest possible involvement.
