Criminal Justice Forum

About the Forum

Are you a voluntary organisation working in Bournemouth, Dorset or Poole involved in any of the following:

  • Promoting Equality and Diversity
  • Reducing Re-Offending
  • Promoting Community Safety
  • Supporting Victims or Witnesses
  • Reducing Substance Misuse and Addiction to Drugs or Alcohol
  • Preventing Youth Crime
  • Preventing Violence against Women and Girls

If so, then the Criminal Justice Forum could be an important source of support and information for you.

The forum is open to all Voluntary Sector Organisations providing services in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. The Criminal Justice Forum aims to ensure the effective involvement of the Voluntary and Community Sector in all aspects of the planning, development and delivery of services to reduce crime and prevent re-offending. The forum meets three times a year.

If you would like to receive regular notifications about the forthcoming meetings or for more information about the forum please contact us on networks@bournemouthcvs.org.uk or 01202 466130.

LankellyChase Foundation with Heriot-Watt University has released the most robust research to date on severe and multiple disadvantage in England. Hard Edges: Mapping Severe and Multiple Disadvantage in England draws together previously separate datasets from homelessness, offending and substance misuse treatment systems. It also takes into account available data on mental health and poverty. It delivers the latest and most comprehensive statistics on people facing severe and multiple disadvantage: where they live, what their lives are like, how effectively they are supported by services, and the economic implications of the disavantages they face. Bournemouth features in the report as one of the local authority areas with the highest prevalence of sever and multiple disadvantage. Read the report here and the summary here.
